Dear Parents and Guardians,

This school year, the Durham Catholic District School Board (DCDSB) has made significant investments to ensure a safe and healthy learning environment for our students and staff during the pandemic.

At this time, the Board is reviewing the challenges involved in operating during COVID-19 and planning for the uncertainties ahead as we develop our budget for an eventual return to normal at some point during the 2021-2022 school year.

While we are focused on being fiscally responsible and allocating resources efficiently to support student achievement and well-being in a faith-filled environment; resources are limited in terms of how they can be spent.

As part of our budget process, we are seeking your suggestions about investments that the Board should consider for the upcoming year in support of student learning.

We invite you to share your input and ideas by participating in a ThoughtExchange.

The ThoughtExchange is anonymous and will allow you to share your thoughts and rate the thoughts and ideas of others. The ThoughtExchange will be available until May 27, 2021.

Thank you for taking the time to offer your input and suggestions and for your continued support of Catholic education in Durham.

Yours in Faith,

Ryan Putnam
